As the digital age has been progressing at an alarming rate for the last ten years, everyone should do their best to keep up with modern technology and purchase the latest products wherever possible. That isn’t about keeping up with the Jones’s; far from it. In fact, the main reason you should stay updated with the most recent tech products is that they could help you to perform tasks faster and make your life that little bit easier. With that in mind, today I’m going to list a number of items I consider to be essential.
Of course, these products can cost a lot of money, which is why you probably want to stagger your purchases across a few months. Once you’ve caught up with everyone else though, the financial strain of buying these items should lessen. So, without wasting time on long introductions, let’s get down to businessâ¦
Smart TV
Most of us are slowly realising that modern services like Netflix offer much better value for money than Sky or cable. For that reason, many people now connect their computers up to their TV sets using HDMI cables. However, you can avoid the need for this if you simply purchase a smart television with internet capabilities. Not only will this allow you to connect wirelessly to your wifi and stream movies online, but it will also mean you can access on-demand services and even your social media accounts from the comfort of your armchair. Smart home automation is the future, so you need to get on board as soon as possible.
WeMo Switch
This is a small and cheap device that allows you to control the lighting and any other electrical things in your home through a wifi network using your smartphone. That means you won’t have to keep walking upstairs every time you realise the cord wasn’t pulled when your kids finished their bath. On top of this, a WeMo switch could also help you to save a lot of money on your electric bills. It’s even possible to control things when you’re out using specialist apps so long as you have an internet connection.
Smart Heating Thermostats
Are you sick and tired of being in a cold house because you forgot to set your heating before leaving for work in the morning? Well, that’s no longer a problem thanks to smart heating thermostats. You can control them remotely from anywhere using your smartphone, or you can let them assess your heating usage over a set period and then work out when to turn it on for you. Of course, you can always override any decisions they make, but they’re pretty good at working out your routine.
Well guys, I have to shoot off now, but I hope you found this article interesting. If you’ve never heard of some of these products before, they might seem a little space-age, but in truth, the technology has been around for quite some time.
