An issue with the Birmingham BT exchange has caused the majority of BT Internet users to be disconnected across the UK. The problem began at around 1pm on Monday. BT has said that they are working at the Birmingham exchange and trying to get everyone back connected as soon as possible.
“Our engineers are on-site and the majority of customers’ service has already been restored. We are working to restore service to remaining customers as soon as possible this afternoon,” BT said.
“Should any customers continue to experience difficulty in accessing their broadband service, they are advised to turn their Hub or modem off and on again.”
Many customers were unable to get in contact with BT, due to the mass incident the customer service numbers were unexpectedly overwhelmed.
Still not resolved almost a week later. BT are not helpful and keep saying they don’t have a problem!
