FileSonic And Uploaded.to Block USA Visitors From Site

FileSonic disables service to the world, and Uploaded.to say ‘good bye USA’! The recent events surrounding the shutting down of ‘Mega Upload.com’ have made File Sonic disable services with all countries, and Uploaded.to part ways with all future USA customers and visitors. Uploaded.to are currently continuing to offer their service to Europe and the UK. USA visitors will be greeted with a message saying ‘service unavailable’, however, previous customers will still be able to login.

FileSonic: “All sharing functionality on FileSonic is now disabled. Our service can only be used to upload and retrieve files that you have uploaded personally.”

FileSonic is a .com service, which means it falls under USA law and is part of theVeriSign COM NET Registry. This is why FileSonic have disabled the service to the world, opposed to Uploaded.to, who have disabled the service to ‘USA only’ visitors. Uploaded.to falls under the Government of Tonga laws.

This brings the questions: does this mean that more file-sharing sites will block USA visitors? Will more website owners and future owners change to different domains? such as; .co.uk, .co, .eu, .tv, .to which fall under different and less confusing laws?
