It’s safe to say we don’t know how good we’ve got it with music. Music streaming has been part of life for so long that not many of us can remember what it’s like to spend lazy afternoons browsing CDS in music shops or struggling for hours to download one song on dial-up internet.

Although streaming is pretty awesome, there will always be times when online streaming just gives up. Maybe the app breaks. Maybe it’s just one of those times technology just won’t work. Does that mean you have to carry on your day in silence, listening to only the birds and tumbleweed? Don’t despair! With our helpful guide, you can use certain programs to download your favorite song or playlist as an mp3 which you can listen to offline.

Why?

Anyone who loves (or even likes!) listening to music probably has Spotify downloaded on their phone..

Most music streaming players will have the option to download a song or playlist. This means you can supposedly play it on the go even when you aren’t connected to the internet. Pretty neat, huh? We have all sat patiently downloading a playlist to listen to offline, only to go offline and find it won’t play!

Once you can download your favorite songs as MP3, you can make sure you can listen to it anywhere and anytime you want. No more disappointment!

This might be extra useful on long journeys where mobile data may be patchy. Or on a flight. You can burn MP3s onto a CD if your car only has a CD player. One great thing about having the MP3s is that you can enjoy your music even if you are running low on mobile data.

Using IOS

Lots of people like to listen to music when they’re out and about, so downloading music onto your iPhone is a pretty useful skill. Anyone who pays for Premium can just make songs available offline. Don’t have Premium? Relax, we will tell you how to download songs to listen to when you aren’t connected using iTunes.

Start by downloading TuneFab Spotify Music Converter onto your computer. When this is up and running, you need to log in to your Spotify account.

Now for the important (and surprisingly easy) bit. You can then select the songs or playlists you want to download, and simply drag and drop them. This nifty program will then scan the music. You then get to choose how you want your song downloaded. So just choose MP3. Once it’s finished downloading, away you go!

One reason we are big fans of  TuneFab is that it lets you download your songs in any format you wany, such as MP4 and WAV. You then have to simply click ‘Convert All’ and wait for it to do its magic. And there you have it. Your song is downloaded as an MP3.

Now to transfer your favorite songs to your iPhone. Start by opening iTunes and plug in your phone.

On the left-hand side, you will  see ‘Music.’ Click this and click ‘Sync Music’ and select your newly downloaded music. Once this is done, you will be able to listen to all your chosen tracks as MP3s on your iPhone. It really is as easy as that!

If you don’t have a PC to do it this way, don’t worry, you can still download music on your iPhone using Telegram.

You need to start by opening the Spotify app and copying the link to the song or playlist you want to download. Then open Telegram and search for ‘Telegram Spotify’. After clicking ‘Start,’ you just need to paste the song URL into the chat box. Click ‘Send’ and it will download the song.

Using Android

If you are using an Android phone, don’t worry, we’ve also got you covered. There are a couple of ways to download tracks as MP3 if you are using an Android phone. The first is completely free and doesn’t need you to download any apps or programs. This is ideal if you’re watching the pennies. However, this does mean that you have to watch adverts which nobody enjoys. You can also only download one song at a time which will test your patience if you want more than one song.

If you want to download music in this way, you just need to open Spotify on your phone or computer. You are looking for the track or playlist’s URL so find the song you want to download. Once you have found the track you are trying to download, click ‘Share’ and then ‘Copy Link’ to copy the song’s URL.

The great thing about this is you just need to open your favorite browser and visit spotifydown.com.  Once the page has loaded, you simply paste the song’s link and download it. That’s it!

Some people love using apps. If this sounds like you, you should try SpotiFlyer. To start, you need to download and install the SpotiFlyer app on your phone. Just like the method above, you need to copy the song’s URL using the Spotify app or player. This is then pasted into Spotiflyer’s input box and click ‘Search.’ The song should then appear with all the information that you can download.

Music streaming is an awesome thing and when it works you can listen to whatever song you want on the go or at home. We all know that this isn’t always the case. Technology sometimes has a mind of its own! But sometimes it just isn’t enough and you need to download songs as MP3. When you find yourself in this position, you now know a few great ways to get your songs onto your phone or PC to listen to whenever you want.
