The first ever eBay shop will be appearing in Soho, London, UK over the Christmas period. Instead of using your credit card to purchase items you will simply scan a QR code against any of the 200 of eBay’s bestselling items, such as a popular party dress sold by House of Fraser. Whilst the store will appear and vanish within a matter of just a few days, it is likely that eBay will measure the success of the ‘pop-up shopâ. If all goes well, then we can probably expect more of these to appear soon. The concept of using QR codes within a shop is not something totally new; it is something that has just started in South Korea. Will it work in the UK? Time will tell.
