The new data shows that over 7 Million adults in the UK have never used the internet, which is around 14% of the UK population. Many of these adults were 75+ years old, and men were more likely to have used the net than women (in this age range). This figure is likely to be much less in future surveys, as this data shows that overall internet usage is up, with one million more people jumping online since this time last year.
As the internet has become faster and cheaper across the UK, it seems that if you didn’t grow up in an era when the internet existed, regardless of its availability and cost, you’re less likely to see what all the modern day internet hype is all about!
