Gary McKinnon hacked in to numerous US NASA computers back in 2002 in search of evidence for UFOs. The USA says the damage caused by Gary McKinnon has cost nearly $1 million, and described the hack as “the biggest military computer hack of all time”. Gary McKinnon suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome.
Theresa May, UK Home Secretary, has blocked the extradition to the US.
“After careful consideration of all of the relevant material I have concluded that Mr McKinnon’s extradition would give rise to such a high risk of him ending his life that a decision to extradite would be incompatible with Mr McKinnon’s human rights. I have therefore withdrawn the extradition order against Mr McKinnon.”
Gary would have faced 60 years in USA had he of been extradited.
