Google Awarded US Patent For Autopilot Car

Google has been awarded a US patent for a driverless car. Putting an aeroplane on autopilot is nothing special in today’s world; however, hitting the autopilot button in a car could also be an everyday occurrence soon, thanks to Google!

Google plan to make a car that can understand signs and road marks automatically using computerised equipment, the car would be equipped with a sensor, and then use GPS to understand the cars approximate location, and then be able to detect trees, buildings, and more.

Whilst the early plans sound like a fancy sat-nav, the potential is to eventually have a fully operational driverless car, and we all understand that Google have the ability to do it!
