Kunai Gaming Headset Review

Mad Catz is a company known for producing more affordable renditions of popular gaming hardware; most of us have owned at least one piece of gear produced by them (be honest).  Furthermore, just because they’re known as the affordable alternative to name brands doesn’t mean that their products are bad or ineffective however.  The ‘Kunai Gaming Headset‘clearly demonstrates this idea with its superior design and features.

All in all, the Kunai headset is more-or-less the affordable version of the higher-end headset designs. This is to say that it incorporates the features and looks of the more expensive name-brand models at a much reduced price (with virtually no loss in terms of capabilities).

The headset itself comes with a fairly long 14 foot cable, which is perfect for almost any situation and is extremely stable in terms of connectivity (vs. wireless).  Likewise, the microphone unit itself is removable, which is very handy if you’re the kind of person who likes to remain quiet while playing games (or perhaps frequently listens to music).

Additionally, the Tritton Kunai stereo Headset is designed to work with the PS3 as well as the Vita, which is both handy and a relief, assuming you own both systems.  While the unit connects to the PS3 via USB (for both power and data), it also includes a 3.5mm audio input as well.

In terms of audio quality, the Kunai Headset really delivers the goods with its twin Neodymium magnet-based speakers.  Simply put, the technology found inside this handy unit might also be found in much more expensive headsets, perhaps even those used for professional audio situations.

The stylish range is available in red, black or white colours. Controlling the Kunai Headset is also a breeze as there is a small control box located on the cord itself.  There are independent controls for both player and in-game volume (awesome), which allow you to mute any out-of-control players who might be ruining all the fun.

The truth is, the Kunai Headset is intensely great value.  If you’re looking for an affordable headset that includes features from more expensive unites, then look no further.  The fact that this headset also provides functionality for both the PS3 as well as the Vita is an added bonus that cannot be easily overlooked either.  A definite buy!
